Odoo works. But do the numbers?
A system can be live and correctly configured while finance is still fighting inventory differences, unreconciled accounts, Excel reports rebuilt by hand and processes nobody can fully explain. Our finance consultants find the cause, our chartered accountants validate the fix, and we can run it afterwards. Neither a consultancy nor an accounting firm does all three.
Review. Implement. Report.
We analyse existing Odoo accounting environments, support implementation partners with finance expertise, and build financial and management reporting on top of Odoo.
- 1Review — get the setup rightA focused review of the accounting inside your Odoo. Twenty minutes on a call, written findings, nothing changed in your system. It tells you what to deal with first.
- 2Implement — get the numbers rightWe rebuild the finance function inside Odoo, alongside your integrator: the process, the data model, the automation, and the move from your current system. Three practices, detailed below.
- 3Report — get the reporting rightAnalytical axes, budgets, variance, and the report each level of management actually needs. Correct numbers are the starting point, not the finish line.
Three situations, three starting points
You are arriving on Odoo, you are plugged into other systems, or you are already running and it is not working. Most people go through the review first, which says which of the three applies — and whether any of them does.
- Migration ERPComing to Odoo from DATEV, Exact, QuickBooks or another system — the accounting half of the move, opening balances included.
- Data & integrationsWhat feeds the accounts from outside: e-commerce, payment providers, payroll, inventory valuation.
- Process & transformationThe five financial flows — order to cash, procure to pay, expenses, close, operations — rebuilt, then automated.
You are in the right place if…
Four situations. If none of them is yours, the honest answer is that we are probably not what you need.
- The balance sheet does not reconcileInventory, clearing accounts, payments or opening balances keep producing differences nobody can explain. Odoo is live and correctly configured, and the numbers still do not hold.
- Finance requirements get lost in the implementationThe accounting team knows what it needs. The implementation team knows Odoo. Someone has to connect the two, and on most projects nobody is asked to.
- You are moving to Odoo from another systemDATEV, Exact, QuickBooks or anything else — and you want the accounting to land right the first time, opening balances included.
- Management reporting still lives in ExcelThe data exists in Odoo, but getting from transactions to usable management information is still done by hand, every month, by the same person.
What it costs when nobody owns the whole chain
Each part can be right and the whole still fail. The integrator answers for the system, the accountant answers for the books, and the space between them — the accounting rule nobody ever wrote down — belongs to no one. That gap does not announce itself. It surfaces at a close, an audit or a due diligence, in the week you need the answer.
- One ownerfor the finance chain end to end, named in the contract
- Writtenevery accounting rule stated before it is built, and tested after
- Both sideswe design it and we can run it — the same firm answers either way
How we work with your integrator
We bid with your integrator, not against them. On a joint proposal they carry the system and we carry the finance inside it. That division is the reason this works, and it is in the framework agreement rather than only on this page.
- 1We bid togetherOne proposal, two scopes. The integrator carries the system — configuration, development, deployment, hosting. We carry the finance inside it. We do not bid for their scope and we do not second-guess it.
- 2We own the financeThe process, the accounting rules, the data model, the reporting, the compliance. The part they were never trained for.
- 3We write, they buildWhen something must be developed, we write the accounting rule and its acceptance tests. They build it. We confirm it books correctly.
- 4One roadmap, named ownersEvery deliverable says whose it is — ours, theirs, or your team's. No one discovers on go-live day that nobody owned it.
How the three fit together
Most engagements start with one and pull in a second. You do not have to know which when you call.
- You do not choose aloneThe free diagnostic exists precisely because the symptom rarely names the cause. A slow close is sometimes a process problem, sometimes a data problem.
- They composeConsolidation almost always needs the data model fixed first. Automation almost always needs the process fixed first.
- They can stopEach practice delivers something usable on its own. Nothing here requires signing up for the other two.
- We operate what we designOnce the transformation is done, we can run it — bookkeeping, reporting, CFO. Neither a consultancy nor an integrator can say that.
What we commit to once the project ends
- We do not leave when the project doesWhere we also keep your books, we are inside the environment we designed, month after month, and we notice when it stops fitting before you have to tell us. It is a structural fact rather than a promise — and it is the one sentence a pure consultancy cannot write.
- A chartered accountant and an Odoo consultant, during and afterWhen the business changes and a new need appears, you find the same people, and both skills together. You do not explain your accounting to someone who only knows Odoo, or the reverse.
- What we tell you without being askedRegulatory changes that affect you specifically — e-invoicing mandates, filing deadlines, threshold changes — computed by country and by your profile. We commit to flagging them. What you then do about them is a separate conversation, and saying so is what makes the commitment real.
When we are not the right answer
Saying this costs us occasional work and saves everyone a bad engagement.
- You need the ERP itself implemented or rebuilt — that is your integrator's project. If you do not have one, we will point you to integrators we have worked with; we take no commission and we have no exclusive.
- You want a report and a slide deck. We produce a roadmap that names owners; if nobody intends to execute it, do not buy it.
- You are not on Odoo and do not intend to be. Our added value is the finance function inside Odoo specifically.
Questions we get before the first call
No. We bid with them, not against them: on a joint proposal the integrator carries the ERP scope and we carry the finance inside it. We do not bid for ERP implementation work ourselves — that is in the framework agreement, not just on this page. We are not tied to one integrator and we take no commission for naming one.
It depends on the market and the scope, so we quote rather than publish a rate. What we can tell you before any quote is what the engagement covers, how long it runs, and what you receive at the end — that part is fixed.
No, but almost everyone does. It is free, it takes twenty minutes, and it tells you whether the problem is the process, the data or the tool — which decides everything that follows.
Yes. Consulting engagements do not require moving your bookkeeping to us. Many clients keep their accountant and use us for the transformation only.
Ten, with chartered accountants in each. The consulting practices are delivered by the network, so a multi-country group is handled by people who know each local rulebook.
